Over-Ear / On-Ear. It's sort of common knowledge that using the Yaxi earpads on the Koss Porta Pro (an astonishingly good headphone on its own) improves the overall balance and brings out the treble a bit. While there is an abundance of verbal descriptions as to just how exactly this changes the sound, I have yet to see a decent measurement of
Thanks for pointing this out. Had been looking for an in line mic Porta Pro, because apparently a KSC75, Porta Pro, Porta Pro Wireless, KTX Pro 1, and KPH30i weren't enough already. Oh and did I mention I also already own 3 Parts Express headbands and 2 pairs of black Yaxi pads!? Also the Yaxi pads are amazingly cheap on Amazon.
Massdrop x Koss KSC75X Ear Clips - A portable alternative to the standard headband. Koss KPH40 Drivers - Well balanced between the brighter KSC75 and the darker Porta Pro. Luxurious Pads - Thick squishy pads for a seal that boosts bass. Koss KPH40 Utility Cable - Lightweight, flat, and semi-interchangeable with a standard 3.5mm plug. Price
Knowing that you can buy an independent mic and the Koss Porta Pro is capable of doing in holding that mic with its screwdriver attachment on the side. I thought of building my own mod with an attached mic. I am not keen of the idea of using a lapel mic but worse comes to worst, may just buy a lapel along with a type of bendable wire for the of
11. My brother just got a pair of KTXPro-1s. They use the same driver as the Porta Pro so I just did a quick comparison and here's the results: The PortaPro is more comfortable but asthetics are a tossup. The PortaPro is more nasally in the mids and a less boomy bass, but the KTXPro-1 is less refined in the high end and has some sort of
Push them down onto your head a bit so they start to extend, but then pull them back up in the air. 2. Lower them back down onto your head to fine-tune the fit. 3. When taking them off, pull the earcups out to the side of your head, THEN lift the headphones up. Maybe this will help you Porta Pro masochists ;)
The Koss Porta Pro are a slightly better headphone overall when compared to the Koss KSC75. The Porta Pro have a better-balanced sound and a more comfortable on-ear fit that you can wear for longer than the KSC75. The [nolink:Porta Pro] also have a better more durable design, although not by much. On the upside, the KSC75 are bit more portable and have a slightly more stable design if you plan
Maybe that lessens with more burn in although Koss apparently does 400 hours of burn in or something like that). More distinction in the instruments I find (especially treble). Fwiw, here's a couple of very positive youtube reviews for the KSC75's:
Porta Pro Mods. I recently bought my first pair of Koss Porta Pros, and although I like them I'm worried the wire will rip out of the driver. I'd like to modify them, specifically so that I can disconnect the wire from the headphones, but I don't trust myself to DIY with the complicated electronics (I break things easily).
